after all this school year...i fianlly ran out of laundry detergent today as i was doing laundry. one bottle sure goes a looong way! thanks laundry bottle, you will be missed.

a really good friend of my dad's, dan scruggs, passed away a few days ago. He is driving down to San Antonio for the funeral at Ft. Sam Houston where my grandfather's body is. Pray for his comfort. Dan was my dad's mentor in his 90s when he passed and if i remember correctly, dan is the one who helped picked out my mom's engagement ring.

Honestly, sometimes I feel so stupid when I write about God on mymy sites, like I'm expected to or something. "Oh, there goes that Alicia kid writing about God again so that other people will be tricked into thinking she's a good Christian that has it all together."

But God deserves to be written about. There aren't many things God doesn't deserve. And in the past few days He has been reminding me why I have faith in Him. Faithfulness is an attribute that God and God alone truly has. Phone calls, messages, smiles... it's not always through reading and praying that we see His character. When everything else in life sucks and you're just sinking and sinking and sinking and you're so close to drowning, God will not always just scoop you out. Sometimes He waits painfully nearby, saying, "Have faith, son. Trust me." It is at that place of brokenness that you can truly understand the peace that passes understanding.
I may not have it all together and it may sound cheesy and lame, but lately I have been learning the only things truly worth learning.

My Phobia of Mustard and Pickles...

is killing me!

So i woke up relatively arly this morning and tuned into the Maury show. I have to say it was pretty much my most enjoyable tv watching experiance this new year besides beauty and the geek! There were five women all of whom were terrified by various things. One of which was scared of mustard..i mean come on! But the other was terrified of pickles! Geez! It was hilarious...fake or not i don't care! they bring out this gigantic plate of pickles and she looses a shoe running to dive behind some guy for cover. That didn't work so well so as she scambles to run towards the back door she lost her other shoe and began to have a panic attack! She was a waitress and if a coustomer asked for a pickle she would tell them they were out!
The balloon phobia lady ran when she heard a balloon popping on the moniter. She tried to run out the back as Maury was trying to warn, "i wouldn't do that." 2.3 seconds later you hear an even louder scream as she apparently ran right into the room they had the balloons stored in! Man oh man! Anyhoo..they all got their phobias solved..another success for Maury...way to go man!

Seasonal

So..i am kinda bummed that i didn't make it to the Christmass Eve sevice with my family. Long story. Anyways.i enjoyed the Portugese Black Death and had my last day of work with Santa today...hope i get a check soon! Merry Christmas everyone. Enjoy this time and savor it.
